Quincunx Quizzing

Providing services to UK quizzers since 2005

Quincunx Quizzing is the brainchild of me - Chris Quinn.

I am a quiz addict, and has been an active member of the Merseyside Quiz League since 1986. I have competed in British, European and World Quiz Championships and have been ranked amongst the top 10 quizzers in Britain, and the top 20 in the world.

I was Warrington Quiz League individual champion in both 2003 and 2007, and now play for The Cricketers (formerly Rainhill Victoria) in the Liverpool league. Our team have been Division 1 champions for eight of the last ten years, going unbeaten in both the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons.

I made my first TV appearance in 2006 on BBC's prestigious Mastermind programme, answering questions on "The History of Forensic Science" . Winning my heat, I appeared again later in the series, answering questions on "The History of Cryptography and Codebreaking" but unfortunately did not progress to the final.

In 2012 I again made it to the semi-final, answering questions on the novels of Roddy Doyle and the films of Mel Brooks.

I appeared on TV's Eggheads in August 2007 as part of the Talbot Inn team, and twice on "Battle of the Brains" in 2008, with one of my teams winning £6000 in a single episode.

In 2009 I won my first heat of "Brain of Britain" and lost to the eventual winner, Dr Ian Bailey, in the semi-finals early in 2010.  I appeared again in 2016 and again reached the semi-final.

Also in 2010, I appeared in BBC's "Only Connect" as part of the Alesmen team, and became the first person in four series to score five points in the first round.  We reached the semi-final of the competition.  We were invited back to take part in a special edition in 2019.
